Port Blair, Mar 14: Mr. Mullappally Ramachandran, Minister of State in Ministry of Home Affairs replied to the unstarred question No-1189 put up by Mr. B.P Ray, Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands regarding the action taken by the Home Ministry on the proposal submitted by A & N Administration in 2007 for allotment of House Sites out of 2500 Hectares of Deem Forest, in various places in A & N Islands.
Mr. Mullappally Ramachandran, Minister of State in Ministry of Home Affairs replied that “Andaman and Nicobar Administration had filed an interlocutory application seeking permission of Hon’ble Supreme Court for the use of deemed forest land for non-forest activities and the matter is sub-judice.”
