Port Blair, Mar 12: Dr. M. Veerappa Moily, Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, GOI has replied to the Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Mr. B P Ray’s question on the matter of increasing the number of subsidized LPG cylinders from 6 to 9 per family in a year in the UT of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Mr. B.P Ray had earlier taken the matter of increasing the number of subsidized gas cylinders in these Islands. Dr.M. Veerappa Moily, Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas has now informed Mr. Ray that “the Government has authorized Oil Marketing Companies to revise annual cap on subsidized domestic IPG cylinders from 3 to 5 for the period from 14.09.2012 to 31.03.2013 and from 6 to 9 cylinders annually w.e.f 01.04.2013. This wiil be subject to the condition that no refund will be admissible on any LPG domestic cylinders already supplied at the non-subsidized price during the period from 14.09.2012 to 17.01.2013.”
