Port Blair, Aug 18: In a shocking incident at Kamal Basti, Campbell Bay, a private worker, Mr. Samul Biswas (45), was reportedly assaulted by his 22-year-old son, Mr. Nimai Raja Biswas, who has a history of alcohol abuse. The altercation occurred this morning, when Nimai returned home intoxicated.
According to Mr. Biswas, after he attempted to reprimand his son but Mr. Nimai began hurling abusive language and attacked his father with a metal scale, striking him on the head and abdomen. Mr. Biswas managed to disarm his son, only for Nimai to retrieve a steel potato peeler from the kitchen and inflict another injury on his father’s abdomen.
Mr. Biswas, suffering from minor injuries, was rushed to PHC Campbell Bay by his wife for treatment. Soon the matter was reported to police and Mr. Nimai was arrested while Mr. Samul Biswas was admitted in PHC Campbell Bay for proper treatment.
