Port Blair, Aug 18: The Investiture Ceremony of Mahatma Gandhi International School was held on 13th August 2024 at school premises, Lt. Aavriti Bhatt, a distinguished officer in the Indian Navy was invited as the Chief Guest to grace the occasion. Lt. Bhatt, who was commissioned into the Indian Navy in June 2021, has achieved notable accolades, including participating in the Republic Day Parade of 2022 and receiving the President’s Gold Medal for her course.
Secretary Mrs. Ranjana Gulechha and Principal Mrs. CH Swapna extended a warm welcome to Lt. Bhatt and the special guests from school Management during the Bouquet and Memento Presentation. This was followed by the Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing knowledge and enlightenment, and a soulful Welcome Song by the school choir, which set a harmonious tone for the event.
The ceremony honored both students and teachers for their outstanding contributions. The Students’ Felicitation recognized academic excellence through the Marker Cup and Scholar Badge awards. The highlight of the day was the Investiture Ceremony itself, where the newly elected Head Boy Sahil Sajan, Head Girl Ms. Praptee Dutta, and other student leaders were ceremoniously adorned with their badges and sashes by Lt. Bhatt. Key positions such as Sports Captains, Discipline Captains, Cultural and Literary Captains, and House Captains were recognized.
The ceremony concluded with inspiring speeches by the Head Boy and Head Girl, followed by a motivational Address by Lt. Aavriti Bhatt. She emphasized the importance of discipline, perseverance, and holistic development, encouraging students to pursue their interests with commitment and integrity. Her Insightful words had made the ceremony even more special. The event wrapped up with the School Song, a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, and the National Anthem, instilling a deep sense of pride and patriotism among everyone present
