Port Blair, July 22:Shri Joseph, a resident of Teressa, Nicobar District has become the first farmer in Teressa to avail the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) facility of Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services. The farmer had 25 goats and was in need of funds for maintenance of his goat farm as his livelihood alone solely depends on animal husbandry activities. He was sanctioned Rs 65,000 under the KCC scheme for the purpose of pig and poultry farming. This initiative marks a significant milestone in promoting Animal Husbandry in the tribal Area of remote Islands of Nicobar District.
