Port Blair, July 21:The two-days State Level ULLAS-Mela-2024 under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme, ULLAS-Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram/New India Literacy Programme-NILP in the UT of A&N Islands concluded at Govt. Girls SSS Auditorium on July 19. The Director Education, Shri Aditya Kumar Jha was the chief guest of the valedictory function. He gave away Certificates, Mementoes’ and Trophy to the best performing CRCs, Blocks, District and Saakshar Mitras. 11 CRCs were presented Best CRC Certificates and Mementoes’ while 18 with best Saakshar Mitra award and 3 with best Resource Person awards. One Best performing District award along with ‘Trophy’ was awarded to Nicobar District for their sustained efforts and services towards 100% literacy among tribal populace.
Speaking on the occasion, Director, Education urged all the stakeholders to make this UT 100% literate on the lines of Lakshadweep and other similar UTs and States.
Earlier, the State Nodal Officer-ULLAS, Nav Bharat Saaksharta Karyakram & Dy. Director (Edn. For All), Shri R. K. Singh welcomed the gathering while Shri Raja Ram, Programme Coordinator-ULLAS, SLMA-ANI presented the 2-days ULLAS-Mela Report.
