Port Blair, Feb 26: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Chairman, AN State Cooperative Union has inaugurated the office premises of M/s Bharati Service Cooperative Society ltd, at Ferrargunj today as the Chief Guest.
In his speech, Sharma lauded the efforts of the BSC society for its services towards the rural people, specially to the farmers in the form of loan to purchase seeds, tractors and other infrastructures to improve their farming.
Sharma requested the gatherings about the importance of Cooperative Society and advised them to opt for Self help groups.
He told that when they form a SHG, they can very easily get loan assistance from ANS Cop Bank or NABARD Bank which never insists for mortgaging of properties or securities to issue loan for developing or establishing their small business of poultry, piggery, pickle making etc etc.
Sharma told that it is not at all easy to get a job in Government departments or in any business house in this era. But in case SHGs are formed, they can get easy loan assistance to run and or establish their own business to earn livelihood for themselves and for their family members.
Sharma has also stated that Cooperative Union has started giving training in beautician, fashion designing, tailoring and computer courses at a very nominal fee from where the unemployed youths can get themselves trained and then start their own business without thinking of getting loan from banks.
In his welcome speech, the Chairman of the Bharati SC Society Mr Ajay Das stated that , the society was established in the year 1968 which was later registered in 1995 by the then Chairman of the Society Late Amar Das with a motive to help the people of rural areas.
Ajay Das further intimated that the Society has issued Kishan Credit Cards to 23 farmers for Rs. 23 lakh rupees and it has a target to issue 100 Kisharn cards @ Rs. 1 lakh each. Das has also informed that farmers can obtain loan against their Kishan Credit Cards @ 7% interest. Smti Abala Samaddar, ZP Adhyaksha, Mohd Shafique, Pramukh, Ferrargunge Gram Panchayat, Director Surabhi and the Chairman Ajay Das have recorded their thanks to Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma for making the Cooperative movement very successful in AN Islands and hoped that through such movement all the rural areas of AN Islands will be flourished and problem of unemployment will be decreased in the coming years.
At the outset Mr. Ganesh Mondal, a senior citizen was honoured with shawl. Mr. Aboobacker, GS INTUC, Ghayas Meshak, Vice Chairman, ANSCU,Subramanyam, ANCOFED, Anant Rao, Director, ANSCop Supply and Mktg federation and other dignitaries were also present beside the local residents. Mohammed Shafique proposed vote of thanks.
