Port Blair, Jun 09: The Child Helpline 1098 under the Directorate of Social Welfare has been conducting an awareness program for a significant initiative at Joggers Park aimed at raising awareness about services provided by Child Helpline 1098. The WCD control Room addressed by VIP road, Port Blair. The Awareness program inaugurated by Mrs. Beena Das, Helpline Administrator CHL-1098.
CHILD HELPLINE 1098 is a phone number that spells hope for millions of children across India. It is a 24-hour a day, 365 days a year, free, emergency phone service for children in need of aid and assistance. We not only respond to the emergency needs of children but also link them to relevant services for their long-term care and rehabilitation.
Furthermore, as part of the program, Child Helpline-1098 demonstrated its 24X7 phone Service, showcasing its accessibility and responsibilities to children in need of assistance and support. This demonstration aimed to underscore the importance of child Helpline 1098 as a lifeline for children facing various challenges and crises.
Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (Social Welfare), emphasized the objective of this awareness among the Society about Child Helpline-1098 and its significance in addressing child related issues and concerns. He also said that every child receives timely and adequate assistance and that Society as a whole is vigilant and responsive to the needs of its youngest members. The Child Helpline (1098) is a step towards creating a safer environment for every child and he believes that empowered and educated community members are fundamental in bringing about this change.
