Port Blair, Feb 22: Under the aegis of A&N Social Welfare Board, Port Blair, the Al-Ameen Education Society, Wimberlygunj, South Andaman organized 8 days awareness Generation Programme in the Panchayat Hall, Ferrargunj on 22.2.2013. A large number of women from nearby villages participated in the programme which was inaugurated by Mrs.Ratna Kannan, Chairperson, A&N Social Welfare Board.
The camp will continue till 1st March, 2013 and during the period, the resource persons from various Departments will interact with the participants. The Chairperson in her address stressed for awareness of women which is very vital for achieving empowerment. The women in all respect should come forward in understanding the programmes available for their development and get benefited. She also informed the participants that the Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi has sanctioned one year Condensed Course of Education for women SSLC failed (metric level) which will start from March, 2013 and 25 adult women will be benefited under this schemes. Mrs. Irene Nicholos, Child Development Project Officer, Mrs. Kadeeja, Secretary, Al-Ameen Education Society, Mr. Sunil Kumar, Pradhan, Ferrargunj & Mrs. S.Rani Pande, Secretary, Social Welfare Board were present on the occasion.
