
Port Blair, May 28: The State Child Protection Society (SCPS) and Pankh Andaman successfully concluded their two-day Vacation Recreation Fitness Workshop at Driftwood Hotel, showcasing a day filled with interactive activities, inspiring sessions, and valuable lessons for children from Child Care Institutions (CCIs). The event, held on the 27th of May, 2024, aimed to provide a holistic experience for the young participants during their holidays.
Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (Social Welfare), stressed the significance of offering children opportunities to participate in recreational activities that enhance both physical health and educational growth. He underscored the diverse programs and workshops designed to foster the development of children under the care of Child Care Institutions.
The second day of the workshop commenced by Ms. Nidhi Rao, an Art of Living teacher and resource person, who engaged the children in activities promoting positive thinking, games, and storytelling. Group activities were also organized to foster teamwork and camaraderie among the participants.
Mr. Ravinder Rao, a Yoga teacher from Art of Living, conducted an interactive art and creativity workshop, encouraging children to express themselves through various forms of artistic expression. The session focused on fostering creativity and self-expression, allowing the young participants to explore their talents and imagination.
Mrs. Komal Anand, Founder-President of Pankh Andaman, led a discussion on the importance of healthy eating habits and nutrition. She educated the children on making informed food choices for their overall well-being. The session encouraged participants to prioritize a balanced diet and understand the significance of a healthy lifestyle.
The workshop closed by a cake-cutting ceremony with all children and a beautiful speech by Mr. A.K. Biswas, Nodal Officer (SCPS), who commended the children for their active participation and encouraged them to continue embracing learning and growth opportunities in their journey ahead.
The event concluded with a heartfelt closing speech by Mrs. Rehaneth Begum, Program manager, SCPS expressing gratitude to Pankh Andaman, esteemed dignitaries, and participants for their support and involvement in making the workshop a resounding success.
