
Mayabunder, May,13:The District Administration, N&M Andaman under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS, continues its relentless efforts in the ongoing encroachment eviction drive, marking the fifth consecutive day of operations. Revenue officials, in coordination with law enforcement agencies are actively engaged in removing illegal encroachments from public and Government lands across the district.
During the eviction drive, the team evicted the encroached Govt. Land at various places viz., Lucknow village (5000 Sq. Mtrs. with temporary shed and fenced area) under Mayabunder Tehsil and at Khudirampur village (8000 Sq. Mtrs. in the form of arecanut and banana plantation) under Diglipur Tehsil and restored it to Govt. Khata.
The encroachment eviction drive, initiated to reclaim and restore public spaces, has garnered significant momentum since its inception. The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of reclaiming public lands for the benefit of the community and ensuring adherence to land-use regulations and policies.
Throughout the drive, the District Administration has prioritized transparency and adherence to due process, providing ample opportunity for affected individuals to vacate encroached areas voluntarily. Simultaneously, stringent measures are being implemented to address instances of resistance or non-compliance in accordance with the law.
The District Administration acknowledges the cooperation of law-abiding citizens and urged for continued support from the community in upholding the rule of law and preserving public assets for future generations.
