Port Blair, May 03: In an exclusive discussion, Mr. Ashish Joon, DANICS, Assistant Commissioner (HQ) & CEO of Zilla Parishad NMA district, shed light on the recent devastating fire incident that ravaged 14 shops at Billiground Bazar. Joon revealed that he personally visited the site on the same day of the incident and conducted a thorough inquiry to assess the losses, coordinated by the Tehsildar Mayabunder.
He informed that a detailed report outlining the extent of property damage has been prepared and forwarded to the higher authorities of the A&N Administration in Port Blair for the sanctioning of compensation. Expressing optimism, Mr. Ashish Joon assured that the affected shopkeepers would receive compensation promptly.
