Port Blair, Mar 19: The District Administration, South Andaman ensuring zero tolerance towards encroachment on Govt. land, carried out an encroachment eviction drive at Aberdeen village in Port Blair Tehsil.
During the eviction drive, fresh encroachments done in the shape of construction over government land by Shri. Gourango Biswas behind Tata Motors were removed at Aberdeen village and an area of 50 sq. mtrs was restored back in the Govt. Khata.
The Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has cautioned the general public to refrain from encroaching upon Govt. land. He has further stated that though the Revenue Administration is busy with the forthcoming General Elections-2024, but it should not be taken as an opportunity to grab upon government land by unscrupulous elements and the Revenue Administration will take strict action against land encroachers/defaulters.
