Port Blair, Mar 18: Residents of Mayabunder have voiced their concerns over the erratic power supply plaguing their area. In a letter addressed to the Deputy Commissioner of N & M Andaman, Mr. Abdul Siddique, former Pramukh of Mayabunder, highlighted the frequent disruptions in power, causing inconvenience to the local population.
He pointed out that the power cuts, occurring at regular intervals, have become a recurring issue, especially during crucial times such as the ongoing CBSE exams and with the approaching monsoon season. Despite Mayabunder being the headquarters of the North and Middle Andaman District, the lack of consistent power supply has deeply affected residents, including students, patients, and the general public.
Expressing disappointment with the Electricity department’s response, Mr. Siddique emphasized the need for immediate action to address the situation. He urged the Dy. Commissioner to intervene and direct the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply for the people of Mayabunder.
