Port Blair, Mar. 01: Delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad Andaman and Nicobar Islands met with President of Bharat Mrs. Draupadi Murmu and discussed various issues pertaining to education and development of these Islands.
The 8 members delegation was led by Student Leader Mr. Siddhanth Rai Sharma, Secretary ABVP, Port Blair along with Mr. Tejinder Singh, City President, ABVP Port Blair and other office bearers.
The delegation has submitted a charter of demands to POB which includes establishment of Central University and stop the ongoing project of Deemed University in these islands, Establishment of Sainik School and Military School in A&N Islands, Separation of Engineering & Polytechnic courses in DBRAIT, Creation & filling of teaching and non-teaching positions including Principals on regular basis for all the colleges and Schools of these Islands, and various other demands so that the overall quality of Education in these islands may improve. President of Bharat gave a very patient hearing and assured the delegation that demands of ABVP are in the favour of youth and students community and will be taken care of.
