Mayabunder, January 24: The lifeless body of 20-year-old Saw Rickson was discovered on January 24, 2024. The youth had been missing since the night of January 22, when he embarked on a fishing trip with three others in a dinghy in Panighat Pool Nallah.
The incident unfolded around 8 PM on January 22, as the group was heading approximately 200 meters beyond Dingi in Panighat Pool Nallah. While two dinghies were approaching each other, a tragic mishap occurred. Saw Rickson, seated in one of the dinghies, lost balance, resulting in him falling into the water.
Promptly, the Mayabunder Police Station and local villagers launched extensive day-and-night search operations in the hopes of finding the missing young boy. Unfortunately, the efforts concluded on the morning of January 24, 2024, when the lifeless body was discovered near “Mayabunder Parrot Island.”
The recovered body was subsequently transported to Mayabunder R P Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Following the necessary procedures, the body was handed over to Saw Rickson’s grieving family to facilitate the final rites.
