Port Blair, Feb 02: The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Rural Development is scheduled to arrive at Port Blair on 05.02.2013 on a three-day visit to the islands.
The programme of the committee includes field visit of Gram Panchayat Guptapara & Gram Panchayat Humphreygunj regarding implementation of the various programmes schemes of the Ministries of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Govt. of India, field visit at Govind Nagar Panchayat and Shyam Nagar Panchayat in Havelock regarding implementation of the various programmes schemes of the Ministries of Rural Development Drinking Water & Sanitation and Panchayati Raj, discussion with the State Bank of India and discussion with UT level officials of the Ministries of Rural Development Drinking Water & Sanitation and Panchayati Raj UT Administration of A&N Islands NRRDA.
On completion of visit, the committee will leave for the mainland on 08.02.2013.
