Port Blair, Jan 29: Labour Bureau,Chandigarh, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Govt. of India has launched the Third Annual Employment-Unemployment Survey 2012-13 throughout the country during October 2012, to March 2013. In the UT of Andaman & Nicobar Islands the survey is being conducted during January-February 2013. In all the three Districts of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, 24 First Stage Units(FSU)-12 Urban Blocks & 12 Rural Samples have been selected and Directorate of Economics & Statistics have been entrusted to carry out the field enumeration as well as supervision of field work of the said survey. Necessary training for Enumerators & Supervisors have been imparted on 16.1.2013 in the Directorate of Economics & Statistics by the Resource Person from Labour Bureau, Chandigarh.
The Statistical Personnel of A&N Administration who have been engaged as Enumerators & Supervisors will do the enumeration of all the households in the allotted Rural & Urban Samples for houselisting and thereafter on random sample canvassing of schedule in the selected households of Rural & Urban Samples. The Heads/Members of Households are therefore, requested to extend their full cooperation to the Enumerators & Supervisors during enumeration and collection of relevant information as per the schedule prescribed by the Govt. of India for the purpose of Planning and making Policy decisions.
