Port Blair, Oct 22: Mr. Vishal Jolly National Executive Member BJP & Former State President BJP-ANI wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary, A & N Administration to bring pay parity among the Part time employees of Education department.
In his letter he drew the facts about the introduction of Part time employees in Education department who are working for more than 8 hours a day but designated as Part time employees. They were selected from the merit list of open recruitment for the post of Group D held in 1998. A total of around 200 persons were engaged on Part time basis / Groundman / Watchman etc. required for the department. Afterwards the Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs came into existence in the year 2003 – 04. The engaged persons were divided into two parts as per the requirement and the persons posted at Sports & Youth Affairs were granted 1/30th of Pay vide their office order no. 138 dt. 04.10.2018.
But the persons retained under the Directorate of Education are still deprived of the benefits of enhanced wages at par with the employees transferred to Directorate of Sports & Youth Affairs; he added.
Accordingly, he requested the Chief Secretary to enhance their pay at par with DRM with 1/30th of pay to all Part time Employees of Education department as they are serving more than 8 hours a day in a larger interest of working employees.
Sir./ Madam, we are 25 no. of CIC Operator in different – different Senior Secondary Schools under Education Department in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. we are engage from the year 2007 as contract basis. Sir/ Madam Education Department not taking any favorable action like 1/30th of pay or not action for regular. We are fighting every time for extension.
