Port Blair, Sept 17: In a dramatic turn of events, a 35-year-old Forest Department worker, residing in Khudirampur, Diglipur tehsil, miraculously survived a suicide attempt on September 16. Battling psychiatric issues, he reportedly cut his own neck with a Machete (Dao) in a desperate act. Fortunately, family members intervened in time, rushing him to CHC Diglipur for immediate medical care. The police have initiated an investigation and registered a case of attempted suicide, and the patient has been referred to Port Blair for further treatment. This incident underscores the importance of mental health awareness and timely intervention.
