Port Blair, Sep 01: On 31st August 2023, The Composite Regional Centre- A&N Islands, under the Administrative Control of NIEPMD Chennai, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment organized “An Adapted Sports Events for Divyangjan” at CRC A&N-Islands, Brookshabad.
The programme was sponsored and inaugurated by Mr. T.S.G.Basker, Chairman of TSG Foundation, Port Blair. Mrs. Sumithamol, RNO, CRC welcomed and Honoured all the guests, invitees & parents for the programme. Mr. Joghar Rao,Counselor, Ward No: 14 felicitated the programme. The presence of members from TSG Foundation enlightened the programme. The aim is to encourage the participation of Divyangjan in adapted sports and recreation activities that can lead to many physical improvements including: increased muscle strength, improved balance and motor skills, enhanced cardiovascular endurance.
The adapted sports event 2023 was started with passing the ball followed by many more sports and games conducted by Mrs. Kokila, Mr. Mathivanan, Mr. Hmadri Sekhar Debsharma & Mr. T.Y.Abid, Rehabilitation Professionals working in CRC A&N-Islands. All the events were designed and planned according to the disability condition. Children participated. The parents of Divyangjan clients encouraged and supported the team with full enthusiasm.
Altogether 48 CwSN along with siblings participated, distributed with gifts and certificates of appreciation.
