Port Blair, Aug 10: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President Mr. Rangalal Halder has requested for Installing traffic Safety signs at road dividers between the areas of Dollygunj to Lambaline.
In a letter addressed to the Director General of Police, A & N Islands, Mr. Halder said that over the past months, the Islanders have observed numerous instances of near misses and collisions at road dividers during the dark hours, making it challenging for drivers to discern the road dividers, putting their life at significant risk.
He mentioned that the road accidents are more prevalent during nighttime due to low visibility as insufficient lighting and inadequate road markings have significantly impacted the safety of the Commuters.
Mr. Halder has further suggested the installation of reflective or illuminated safety signs along the road dividers as these signs will enhance visibility for drivers at night and promote safer navigation on the road, reducing the risk of accidents and improving overall safety of the commuters.
