Port Blair, July 25: Central Island Agricultural Research Institute Employees Welfare Association (CIARIEWA) of ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair organized a function on 21th July 2023, to bid farewell to Dr. T.P. Swarnam, Principal Scientist on her appointment as Head, Division of Organic Agricultural Systems, ICAR-IIFSR, Modipuramand also to welcome Dr. Jai Sunder, Principal Scientist on his appointment as Head, Division of Animal Science, ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair along with four new scientists namely Dr. Abhilash, Scientist (Agricultural Meteorology), Dr. Prabhu P, Scientist (Economic Botany and Plant Genetic Resources), Dr. Talaviya Harshangkumar, G, Scientist (Agricultural Chemicals) &Dr. Sharath S. Yeligar, Scientist (Agricultural Economics) on joining ICAR-CIARI, Port Blair.
Dr. Eaknath B. Chakurkar, Director and Patron, CIARIEWA in his presidential address expressed his happiness over the joining of new scientists and assured his fullest cooperation with his team of scientists of the institute. He acknowledged the contribution made by Dr. T.P. Swarnam and Dr. Jai Sunder in R, D & E activities. The outgoing and newly joined both scientists were honored with a shawl and memento by the Patron, CIARIEWA on the occasion.
Dr. S.K. Zamir Ahmed, General Secretary, CIARIEWA introduced the house about the profile, length of service and significant achievement made in the respective field by Dr. T.P. Swarnam, Principal Scientist and also about Dr. Jai Sunder, Principal Scientist, beside four new scientists were also introduced to the house.
Dr. P.K. Singh, Dr. Y. Ramakrishna, Dr. T. Subramani, Dr. I. Jaisankar, Dr. T. Sujatha spoke on the occasion.
The Chief Guests of the day Dr. T.P. Swarnam, Principal Scientist, Dr. Jai Sunder, Principal Scientist expressed their happiness on the opportunities extended and shared their experiences. At the outset, Mr. K. Saravanan, Joint Secretary, CIARIEWA welcomed the gathering and the programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Tanmai Paul, Executive member, CIARIEWA. Mr. Shyam Sunder Rao, Executive member, CIARIEWA coordinated the conduct of the function at Dr. T.R. Dutta Conference hall of Garacharma Research Complex, ICAR_CIARI, Port Blair.
