Port Blair, July 25: The Global Academy of Modern Fitness, led by Grand Master Shihan MS Murugan, recently undertook an empowering initiative to promote health and well-being among the police department and their families in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The 5-day fitness program, held from 17th July 2023 to 21st July 2023, witnessed enthusiastic participation and garnered widespread appreciation from the participants and authorities alike.
The idea for the fitness program was initiated when Grand Master Shihan MS Murugan personally approached the revered Director General of Police (DGP), Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, to discuss the significance of incorporating fitness and wellness practices into the lives of the police personnel and their families. The DGP, reportedly recognizing the value of such a program, extended wholehearted support, ensuring that all members of the police force and their families could benefit from the initiative.
The comprehensive fitness program offered an array of activities designed to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and stress relief. Participants engaged in fitness exercises, self-defense techniques, aerobic exercises, laughter yoga, and meditation sessions, all aimed at enhancing their overall health and vitality.
The impact of the program was far-reaching, positively affecting over 100 staff members from the police department and their families. Participants reported feeling more energized, stress-free, and motivated to lead healthier lives after completing the fitness sessions.
The closing ceremony, held at Police Line on 21st July 2023, was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Respected Shri RK Sharma DYSP APU, Inspector Sahil Samsuddin RI, Inspector Barun Adhikari, and SI Balwinder Singh. During the event, Respected Shri RK Sharma DYSP APU emphasized the importance of maintaining a fit and healthy lifestyle, free from the burdens of stress.
The success of the fitness program would not have been possible without the dedicated support of Respected Smti Monika Bhardwaj IPS, DIGP Law and Order/APU, and Respected Smti Niharika But SP APU, whose encouragement and cooperation contributed significantly to its smooth execution.
