Port Blair, July 13: A delegation of tribal leaders of Car Nicobar Island comprising of Secretary, Tribal Council Mr. Martin Luther, Deputy Vice Chairman, Tribal Council Mr. John Levi and First Captain of Big Lapathy Village Mr. Manuah Thomas met National Chairman of Adivasi Congress Mr. ShivajiraoMoghe at New Delhi.
The delegation was headed by ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder, ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker, Chairman Adivasi Congress, A&N Islands Mr. Sebastian Tirkey and Pradesh Youth Congress President Ms. Diksha Dular.
The ANTCC leaders raised the demand to preserve and protect the tribal interests in A&N Islands. Several other issues related to tribal empowerment were also discussed during the meeting.
