Port Blair, Jan 07: A out of control car smashed a bike and another car near School Line this evening at around 5pm. Luckily, the bike rider survived with minor injuries. Eye witnesses suspect that the driver of the car was driving under influence of liquor.
The car was going towards Minnie Bay in a zigzag manner and smashed a bike, which was coming from opposite direction. The car dragged the bike to some distance and after reaching to the right side of the road, it smashed another car.
Immediately, PCR van reached the spot and detained the driver. According to reports, a challan of Rs 1000 was imposed on the driver, under Motor Vehicle (MV) act.
However, when contacted, sources in Police Department said that the driver of the car was tested negative in Breathalyzer. According to reports, the accident occurred as the driver lost control over the car. However, the matter ended with compromise between all the parties.
