Port Blair, Jan 06: Refuting a news item of Andaman Sheekha the Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI) APARAJITA today said that one of the staff asked to refund the salary for any holiday.
On January 03, 2013 Andaman Sheekha had published a news that, the said NGO has now asked all the staffs of PHC Kishorinagar (run by APARAJITA under PPP mode) to refund leave/ holiday payments before 5 January 2013 or their future salary will be held up by the NGO.
“I am not saying that the news is totally wrong. I am sure you must be having your own sources But we have deducted money from the salary of only those staffs, who have availed more than leaves, due to them,” Dr. P C Bhatnagar, the Director Communicable Diseases & Project Director of Andamans said when Andaman Sheekha contacted him for an official version.
He said that these leaves were sanctioned without pay and they were explained this before sanction of the leave.
“This deduction is as per the Government norms where the principle of No Work No Pay is followed. The deduction of additional leave will be done in future.” said Dr. Bhatnagar.
However, recording available with Andaman Sheekha proves that some staffs have already refunded money for their additional leave. Sources said that around eight persons have refunded money but most of them have not got any receipt yet for the refund. It has been learnt that the receipts will be issued to them only on Monday.
