Port Blair, June 18: Applications in prescribed format have been invited from bonafide Fishers / Fish Farmers / Tribals who are interested to go on study tour to Odisha and Kerala during the year 2023-24. The purpose of the study tour is to acquaint Fishers/ Fish Farmers / Tribals of the Islands with the latest and innovating technological development taking place in mainland. The study tour for the Freshwater Fish Farmers shall be for Odisha and for Marine Fishers / Tribals shall be Kerala.
The expenditure on boarding, lodging and travel shall be met by the Department of Fisheries. The Fishers / Fish Farmers / Tribals in the age group of 18 to 45 years can submit their applications to the nearest Fisheries Sub-Stations/ Zonal Fisheries Office along with four copies of recent passport size photographs, copy of local certificate (with photograph duly attested by the Tehsildar)/ Islander ID Card/ Aadhaar Card, copy of fishing license/Fisher ID Card for last five years (Marine Fishers) / latest copy of land record in case of freshwater fish farmers in his/parent name with due recommendations of Pradhan Gram Panchayats/ Tribal Councils through respective Area Fishery Officers by 30.06.2023.
The prescribed application forms and the eligibility conditions can be collected from the respective Area Fishery Officer, Fisheries Sub Stations, Fisheries Zonal Offices. The incomplete applications and applications received after the due date shall not be entertained.
