Port Blair, June 15: On 15nd & 16rd June 2023, The Composite Regional Centre- A&N Islands, under the Administrative Control of NIEPMD Chennai, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment in association with Punk Ngo an Chinmaya Mission has organized Summer Camp 2023 for Divyangjan & Siblings at CRC A&N-Islands, Brookshabad.
The programme was inaugurated by Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary A&N Administration along with the presence of Mrs. Pallavi Sarkar IAS, Secretary and Dr. Nitin Shakya (DANICS), Director, Social Welfare Andaman & Nicobar Administration. Mr. A.K.Biswas, Nodal Officer Disabilities, Social Welfare, A&N were also present to the programme. The programme was sponsored by Mrs. Komal Anand, Founder & President Pankh NGO Andaman in presence of Swami. Suddhananda, Chinmaya Mission, Port Blair.
Mrs. Sumithamol, RNO, CRC welcomed and Honoured all the guests, invitees & parents for the programme. During the Chief Guest address Mr. Keshav Chandra, Chief Secretary, A&N Administration appreciated the service of CRC and gave encouraging words for further services to be done for empowering the CwSN.
The Summer Camp 2023 was started with “Music Therapy for Children with Special Needs” which was conducted by Dr. Avinash, who has completed specialization in Music therapy and working as PGT in Education Department performed musical notes, vocal music and taught some adapted ragas for the CwSN followed by Adapted yoga performed by Mr. Sera Arasan, Yoga Teacher, Vasumathi Yoga Clinic. The children also engaged in various arts and crafts and indoor games by the faculties of CRC A&N-Islands.
Successfully, the programme achieved the main objective to encourage and develop inclusive society through extra-curricular activities. Altogether 50 CwSN along with siblings participated and distributed gifts. The lunch was also distributed by Pankh NGO Andaman. Finally, Mr. T.Y.Abid, Lecturer Physiotherapy delivered a Vote of Thanks.
