Port Blair, June 14: Bamboo Flat police busted an interstate Narcotics smuggling module active in the islands. Acting on a tip off information, on 03/06/2023 a Police team headed by Mr. Arshdeep singh Panwar (DANIPS), SDPO Bambooflat apprehended one person namely Jaydab Sardar, R/o Wright Myo, Permanent resident of Kaliani / Khedapara, Purana Bangaon, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal and recovered 1.850 Kgs of ganja from his possession. During further Investigation it was revealed that the accused Jaydab Sardar bought the ganja from one Bikash Mondal. Through technical and physical investigation on 06/06/2023 Bikash Mondal S/o Late Amiya Mondal (38) yrs R/o Shal Bay No. 09 Permanent resident of Tangra, Sundarpur, Bongaon, Dist. North 24 Pargana District West Bengal was apprehended and further 4.540 kgs of ganja was recovered from his possession.
Upon further investigation it was revealed that the contraband was procured by Bikash Mondal from a person named Sushanto Mondal Mondal, S/o Gopinath Mondal, 43 Yrs, R/o Kaliani/Khedapara, Purana Bangaon, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, who acted as the kingpin of the module. A team was deputed to West Bengal to nab the supplier of the ganja racket and on 12/06/2023, the team successful arrested Sushanta Mondal, S/o Gopinath Mondal, 43 Yrs, R/o Kaliani/Khedapara, Purana Bangaon, North 24 Parganas, West Bengal and brought him to Port Blair on 13/06/2023.
The above operation was successfully conducted by the team comprising Inspector K. Abdul Nasir, SHO, PS Bambooflat, SI Ranga Swamy, I/c OP Wimberly Gunj, SI Mohd. Rafique, PS Bambooflat, SI K.V. Abdul Salam, PS Ograbraj, HC/Ashok Roy, HC/Zubair, HC/ Nikhil Mondal, PC / Shiva Kumar, PC/Suresh Kumar, PC/SM Krishna, PC/ T. Srinivasan, PC/Ali, PC/Arvind Barla, PC/Srinivasan of PS Bambooflat & OP Wimberlygunj respectively and Ct./Mohd. Basheer of IRBn under the supervision of Mr. Arshdeep singh Panwar (DANIPS), SDPO Bambooflat and under over all supervision of Mr. Kalaivanan R, IPS, SP District South Andaman.
