Port Blair, Jan 04: The Lt Governor, Lt Gen (Retd) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM has approved the reduction of room tariff for the physically challenged persons and physically challenged persons coming under below poverty line category of the Islands in all the three Andaman Bhawans located at New Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai.
As Physically Challenged persons need protection and support from not only of their family and society, but also from government for overcoming the limitations/challenges imposed by disability, this move of the Administration has come as a major relief for them. Besides extending financial relief to the Physically Challenged persons of the Islands, the Administration is also implementing various welfare schemes for the benefit and support to such people.
The concessional room tariff will be provided to physically challenged persons @ Rs 500/- per bed (A/C) and Rs 200/- per bed (NAC). Similarly, the room tariff for referred patients and persons who come under the category of physically challenged and under below poverty line will now be charged 50% of the room tariff applicable to physically challenged persons i.e. Rs 250/- per bed (A/C) and Rs 100 per bed (NAC).
