Port Blair, May 28: Mr. Vishal Jolly, National Executive Member BJP and Former State President BJP ANI wrote a letter to the Chief Secretary A & N Administration regarding early completion of the project under Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna (Urban).
In his letter Mr. Jolly wrote that the delay of commencement of project under PMAY (Urban). That the BJP led Central Government had launched a scheme to ensure housing for all and a deadline to achieve this target was fixed as 31st March, 2024.
Further he mentioned that this prestigious flagship project has two parts i.e., Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna (Grameen) and Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna (Urban). In Islands, the PMAY (Urban) is pending since 04th August, 2022. On this date, the Superintending Engineer, Port Blair Municipal Council notified the names of the selected 329 beneficiaries on the basis of the lottery system.
He also stated that since then, there is no positive development of this pending project and the same is lingering for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities dealing with this project and the aspirations of these poor beneficiaries is required to be fulfilled without any further delay. Owning a residential house to live with their respective families is a dream of every person and our Central Government under the vibrant leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Mananiya Narendra Modi has been making relentless efforts to fulfill those dreams of the people belonging to the poor and marginalized category. Reportedly more than 0.3 crore houses have been built under these two yojna in India.
Mr. Jolly in letter also mentioned that the works for the very same project meant for the RURAL areas has been completed to a large extend and reportedly around 1174 houses have already been built as on 03rd February, 2023, whereas the project meant for URBAN area has got struck for a long time.
Accordingly, he requested the Chief Secretary to take all necessary endeavors to complete this project, at the earliest, by giving necessary directions to the concerned authorities.
