Port Blair, Jan 02: In surprise checks conducted by the officials of the Port Blair Municipal Council during the period from 24.12.2012 to 29.12.2012, 12.750 kgs of plastic carry bags being used by shopkeepers for commercial purpose was seized.
The commercial establishment owners have been cautioned not to use the plastic carry bags for any purpose failing which action will be taken as per rules against such establishments.
