Port Blair, Apr 25: The DBRAIT Students’ Council along with few senior students of the institute has taken up the task of career counseling as a social cause, amongst the students of rural schools with a motto to give them a better understanding of their own-self, provides awareness about various career options, and helps them gain confidence to face the outside world and continue their higher education. They guided the students to take up what suits them the most, which college to get admitted to, and the various job opportunities available on their chosen path. Children from economically weaker households were also taken due care during the counseling who in turn, benefit the most from this type of program.
The students covered the various Govt. Senior Secondary Schools of Diglipur, Mayabunder, Rangat, Swadesh Nagar, Shaheed and Swaraj Dweep followed with two Senior Secondary Schools, School line and Garacharma of Port Blair. Online counseling was also taken up by the students for the two schools at Hut Bay. Altogether 700 students plus from various schools benefited from this program.
