Port Blair, Mar 13: On 05.04.2023, the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Mayabunder presided over by Mr. Mohd. Rafique Alam, convicted the accused namely Mr. Pratap Hemron for the offense punishable under section 279/337/338/304(A) of IPC in connection with FIR No. 03/14 dt. 20/01/2014 of PS Kadamtala and sentenced him to suffer Simple imprisonment for two (02) years & eight (08) months and to pay a fine of Rs. 1 Lakh, out of which 100% shall be paid as compensation to the family of the deceased Sangeeta Biswas. The State Prosecution was conducted by the Prosecution wing of District Administration, North & Middle Andaman, Mayabunder.
