Port Blair, Mar 16: Imtiyaz Ahmad, who allegedly attempted to Kidnap Bollywood actor Anusheel Chakraborty, has finally been arrested from Uttar Pradesh by Mumbai Police. The alleged mastermind and prime accused was arrested on 9th March and was produced before the Andheri Court. He was sent to police remand till 13th March, following which he was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
Imtiyaz Ahmad had been absconding since the FIR was registered against him on 7th January, 2023, at the Oshiwara Police Station in Mumbai. The police had previously arrested another accused, SaifKamrulhuda Siddiqui. Both accused are now behind bars.
The Mumbai Police had been on the lookout for Ahmad, who had been continuously changing his location to evade arrest. However, it was the efficiency and speediness of the Mumbai Police that eventually led to his capture.
