Port Bair, Mar 09: International women’s day is observed on the 7th of March 2023 based on the theme “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality” at the conference hall of Agriculture office, Goalghar by ICDS Urban Project under Directorate of Social Welfare. To spread the message of gender equality to create a better society free of gender bias. As part of the observance of IWD, various programmes were conducted to recognize and celebrate the women and girls who are championing the advancement of transformative technology and digital education. The programme was inaugurated by the chief guest Mrs. Pallavi Sarkar IAS (Sec. Social Welfare) by lighting the lamp. And CDPO Mrs. Zarina Bibi ICDS (UP) welcomed all the guests.
In this programme women excel in different areas were felicitated by the chief guest. A recipe competition mainly based on millets, in order to create awareness on millets based food & a Rangoli Competition based on the theme IWD and Poshan Pakhwada were also conducted. Different Cultural programmes were presented by AWWs, children from Balika Niketan & villagers, and members from hope foundation NGO. Indoor Games were also conducted.
