Port Blair, Dec 21: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC who was at Hutbay on 20th December, 2012 was requested by the students, parents, general public and PRI members to place their demand before the Lt Governor to keep the stage constructed by the APWD in the compound of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Hut Bay in connection with the programme of Bharat Nirmann PIC, as a permanent structure for organising various programmes, viz cultural programes, annual day meet etc of the students and general public.
Accordingly Sharma has sent a letter of request to the Lt Governor and stated that the demands of the residents of Hut Bay is genuine in nature and hence this may be handed over to the School Authority which may be used by the Schools of Little Andaman for organising their programmes.
The General public may also use it to display performing arts on getting permission from the HoD of the School. Sharma has also informed that the programme of Bharat Nirman PIC will be over on 23rd December, 2012 as per the schedule and before the APWD officials go for its dismantling the structure on 24th December, 2012, the Lt Governor may kindly consider issue suitable instructions on the matter as a welfare measure for the students and general public of the island.
On this afternoon, Sharma has also went to Dairy Farm Ganesh Temple to get blessings of Swamy Ayyappa and Lord Ganesha.
