Port Blair, Feb 16: In memory of Late Dr. T.C. Khatri, Former HOD Zoology, JNRM and popularly known as butterfly man of islands, the 6th Dr. T.C. Khatri Memorial Lecture was organized by The Nature Club, Department of Zoology, JNRM on 16th Feb 2023. The topic of this year’s lecture was “Web Architect of Blue Emerald”. The key speaker was Dr. Minakshi Dash, Research Associate at ANRC-ZSI, Port Blair. Dr. Dash presented the detailed aspects of the ecology and spatial dynamics of spiders. In her talk she mentions the habitat selection and web architecture of spiders along with integrated pest management to use of most beautiful spiders in agro-ecosystems. Dr. H. K. Sharma, Patron, The Nature club and Principal JNRM, inaugurated the Webinar and appreciated the organizers for sensitizing students to conserve nature. Earlier in the welcome address, Dr. V. K. Sahu, Assistant Professor and convener, highlighted the motto and activities of The Nature Club. Winners of the debate competition were felicitated with certificates. The program was compared by Gangotri and Riya Paul while vote of thanks was proposed by Muneera Bibi. Students of Geography, Zoology, Botany and B.P.Ed. Participated actively.
