Diglipur, Feb 10: In a bid to alleviate the sufferings of the patients of Kishorinagar area under Diglipur Tehsil, the Directorate of Health Services, A & N Administration, Port Blair provided a new ambulance to the PHC Kishorinagar.
According to a report, the new ambulance was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Mrs. Rita Mondal, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Kishorinagar while Dr.Siddaraju, CMO, CHC, Diglipur cut the ribbon on the occasion in the morning hours today.
After flagging off the ambulance, the Pradhan felt happiness and thanked DHS for providing the new ambulance which was a dire need.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, the CMO said that, considering remoteness and vastness of the area under PHC Kishorinagar, Directorate of Health Services provided this ambulance for transportation of pregnant women, children and serious patients of these areas. He further said that the previous ambulance was old and complained of frequent breakdown causing inconvenience to the patients of PHC Kishorinagar, it was felt necessary to improve the ambulance services.
A new ambulance was very much necessary for shifting serious patients and delivery patients from far flung areas like Paschim Sagar, Talbagan, Kalapahad, Pailoon and Parangara area to PHC Kishorinagar and to CHC Diglipur in case of expert management, Dr.Siddaraju further said.
