Port Blair, Feb 08: Mr. D. Ayyappan, Secretary, CPI (M) A & N State Organizing Committee along with other leaders of the party met the fire victims at Junglighat on 7th February, 2023.
A devastating fire on 1st February, 2023 night at Junglighat completely gutted five shops and residential house while damaging a few other adjacent shops. Each shopkeeper sustained the loss of lakhs in the fire incident while the residential building was completely gutted, rendering the residents shelter-less.
The shopkeepers and the residents of the residential building complained to the CPI (M) leaders that no monetary relief has been provided to them by the Administration so far. All the shopkeepers have no other source of income and whatever they earned have been lost in the fire.
Mr. D. Ayyappan assured the fire victims that their case will be taken up with the authorities concerned in the Administration. Mr. P. Sathyapal, Member, State Organizing Committee, Mr. NKP Nair and Mr. KG Samkutty Port Blair Area Committee Members of CPI (M) accompanied the Secretary.
