Port Blair, Dec 29: The 17th Annual Sports of M.E.S. School, Ograbraj was conducted on 28th December, 2022 in the school grounds. The Sports meet was declared open by the Chief Guest Mr. Mohammed Shafiq, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Mitakhari. In his inaugural address the Chief Guest laid stress in the importance of sports in shaping of a child. He also appreciated the exemplary work of Muslim Education Society in the field of education in rural areas of South Andaman during the last 45 years since its inception in the year 1977. During the inaugural session of sports meet March Past by students of four houses were performed. Mass PT, Dumble Drill, Yoga, Colorful Dance by students and Saree Drill were also performed during the meet.
Mr. T Abdul Wahab, Principal, MES School, Ograbaraj welcomed the gathering and informed about various achievements of the school in the academic year 2022-23. He also expressed gratitude to the A & N Administration and PRI of the area for their help and cooperation. A large gathering of PRI members, Parents and Students were also there on the occasion. The Chief Guest along with Mr. A P Abdul Aziz, President, Muslim Education Society and Mr. MA Salam, Director of Agriculture (Retired) felicitated Ms. Ashna Nazir, D/o Abdul Nazir, R/o Habdipur and Ms.Shakeeba Banu, D/o C Sayed Alvi, R/o Ograbraj for scoring highest marks in Class-Xth examination of CBSE.
Mr. Simson, Up-Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti Ferrargunj graced the occasion as Chief Guest in the closing ceremony of sports meet and Mr. Anand Amrit Raj was the Guest of Honor. They jointly declared the sports meet closed and distributed prizes to the winners. Overall winner in the sports meet was Sunil Chethri House and was presented a trophy. Mrs.Punam Dung Dung presented the Vote of Thanks on this occasion.
