Port Blair, Dec 04: In a letter address to the chief secretary the StatePresident BJP mentioned that in Diglipur there are lots of developments works hampered and arepending due to non availability of sufficient Quarry products for thegovernment as well as private sector. The existing quarry does not havesufficient Quarry products and not in a position to meet the demand of alldevelopmental activities.
He mentioned that the existing quarry is very old which is operating for last more than 30years. In order to mitigate the shortage of the Quarry products he requested to chief secretary to kindlyconsider to allot a suitable parcel of forest and revenue land which isavailable adjacent to the existing quarry where large quantity of Quarrymaterials are available. If the above mentioned additional quarry isallotted then all the pending developmental works can be taken up and itcan solve the problems faced in Diglipur as well as the entire north andmiddle Andaman District.
