Port Blair, Dec 02: Mr. Ajoy Bairagi State President BJP, A & N Islands has shot a letter to the Chief Secretary A & N Administration Secretariat Port Blair today outlining the grievances of a number of Lab Technicians & Lab Assistants who had been working under the Directorate of Health Service.
Mr. Bairagi apprised the CS in his letter that a delegation of Lab Technicians & Lab Assistants who had been working under the Directorate of Health Service met him today and expressed their pathetic condition on removal of these people from the contractual engagement under DHS.
They were engaged on contract basis from 3rd August ‘2020 vide order no.2301 of the office of the DHS. They continued till 1/10/2022 and extended their valuable service specially during the entire Covid-19 pandemic period. They rendered their valuable services selflessly and without bothering about their own life / health. They were honoured as Corona warriors and now when the Corona considerably ebbed away, their contract hasn’t been extended which rendered them jobless, Mr. Bairagi wrote in his letter.
The BJP State President, A & N Islands also urged the Chief Secretary to kindly consider the matter of extension of their contractual engagement for further period sympathetically on humanitarian ground in his letter.
