Diglipur, Dec 02: While the Prime Minister of India has promised to double the income of farmers in India, the farmers of Diglipur are allegedly facing problems due to non-supply of fertilizer to them by the Agriculture Department, Diglipur.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha, Mr. Kamal Halder, President, Diglipur Farmer Union told that the cultivation of vegetables in Diglipur is being severely affected owing to non-availability of fertilizer. The Agriculture Dept. is not issuing the fertilizer to the farmers now, while there is sufficient stock of fertilizer in the godown of the department, Mr. Kamal Halder alleged.
Setting the deadline for a week, Mr. Halder also said that, if fertilizer isn’t issued within one week, farmers of Diglipur will start mass dharna.
There is no other choice left, the farmers have been severely facing problems in yielding their produce without the required quantity of fertilizer, the aggrieved President, DFU lamented.
Andaman Sheekha tried to contact the concerned officials of the Agriculture Dept. Diglipur to get more details in this regard, but the contact couldn’t be established.
