
Port Blair, Nov 18: Andaman and Nicobar Islands will probably be in global limelight in the last week of November 2022 as Government of India is planning to hold a crucial briefing for about 30-40 diplomats at the Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Islands), where G20 ‘Sherpa’ Amitabh Kant, ‘Sous Sherpa’ Abhay Thakur, and the G20 National Coordinator, former Foreign Secretary Harsh Shringla, will give them a preview of India’s plans for the next year of its Presidency.
Diplomats from all missions of G20 countries, invitees and United Nations agencies and many senior officers of Government of India are expected to participate in the briefing.
At the meeting, Indian officials will explain to the ambassadors during a two-hour presentation what India plans to do over the year, and what India’s focus will be as the head of the G-20.
A visit to the Cellular Jail in the Andamans is also being considered, probably for which the museums of the National Memorial Cellular Jail has been kept closed for the visitors on 25thNovember, 2022 in the afternoon from 12.30 pm onwards
