Port Blair, Nov. 14:An unfortunate incident was reported on 28.10.2022 from Hope town (Chunnabatta) wherein it was reported that on 02.10.2022 one CH AppaRao, S/o Late CH Punnavaslu&2 others went for fishing near to the sea area of Hope Town (Chunnabatta) under Ferrargunj Tehsil. During the course of fishing, CH AppaRao fell into the sea and later his body was recovered.
Considering the incident to be an unfortunate one, ShriSuneelAnchipaka, IAS, District Magistrate/Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman has sanctioned an amount of Rs.1,50,000/- towards immediate relief/financial assistance to the bereaved family of the victims. The amount was sanctioned under Andaman & Nicobar Islands scheme for providing financial assistance to victims of accidents. (who are not covered under the prevailing NDRF/SDRF norms).
Following the direction, ShriDilkhushMeena, IAS, Assistant Commissioner (Relief & Disaster Management) completed the documentation & disbursed/ issued the relief money to the beneficiary.
The succor being provided as a helping hand to the bereaved family of deceased who lost their family member/ means of livelihood, will enable them to restart the essential activities, so as to reduce their level of suffering.
