Port Blair, Nov 14:The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has sanctioned purchase and supply of 01 Mahindra 575 DI XP Plus Tractor fitted with cultivator attachments viz. Iron wheel set, Fertiliser drill, Tiller etc. to the Laxmi Nagar Gram Panchayat, Campbell Bay for agricultural purposes of farmers and other allied field works of Gram Panchayat from MPLADS fund at the cost of Rs. 15 Lakhs.
Campbell Bay being a remote area, the economy of the region depends on Agriculture and the general public including youths of the region primarily depend on Agriculture for their livelihood.
The Member of Parliament had learned about the problems being faced by farmers of the region due to absence of a Tractor for general use of farmers under Laxmi Nagar Gram Panchayat, Campbell Bay.
Once this Tractor is delivered to the Panchayat, it will be easily available for all farmers in the region, which will not only help in professional level farming but also will save a lot of time and energy of farmers of the entire region.
