Port Blair, Nov 11: One Matron and one ANM from the Health Department of A&N Administration has been awarded National Florence Nightingale Awards for the year 2021 by the President of India, SmtDroupadiMurmu for their meritorious services.
The awardees from Andaman and Nicobar Islands are Smti. S. Vijaya Saigal, Matron (Retd.) GBP hospital/ANIIMS, Port Blairand ANM Ms. Chandra Mallik.
Altogether 51 nursing officers from across the country were felicitated with the National Florence Nightingale Award 2021 by President SmtDroupadiMurmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan for their exemplary contribution to strengthening healthcare delivery on 07 November 2022.
The National Florence Nightingale Awards were instituted in the year 1973 by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, as a mark of recognition for the meritorious services rendered by nurses and nursing professionals to the society.
