Port Blair, Oct 20: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands to introduce some more Under Graduate courses like Physical Education, Computer Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Microbiology, Forestry and Fisheries to maximise the chance of North and Middle Andaman Students to get employment in high places of local, national and international level.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament mentioned that Mahatma Gandhi Government College (MGGC) is the only degree college of North and Middle Andaman and since last many years only six subjects viz History, Political Science, Economics, Geography, Commerce and Bachelors of Cooperative Management are being offered by the college.
He mentioned that with changing local, nation and international scenarios regarding job opportunity and employability there is an urgent need to introduce some more courses which have high demand everywhere.
He pointed out that introduction of these courses will not only provide more choices to students of North and Middle Andaman but also it will generate lots of jobs for unemployed youths of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
